What happens when you send a 16-year-old boy to China with about 300 other teenagers?
Not only does he come home with dozens of stories to share. He also comes home with one GREAT story to last a lifetime.
My boy did not make it out of the U.S. before he met a girl. Hours spent at LAX waiting for an exciting trip to a far away land when you don't know anyone lends itself to making new friends...also those of the opposite sex. He and his new friend enjoyed companionship and having someone to share their meals.
Three days into their tour around the anciet treasures of China, they toured the Great Wall.
Soooo...
My son experienced his first kiss on the Great Wall of China!
Fortunately, these wise young people did decide that three days does not equal LOVE and chose to spend the rest of their trip as friends.
So how did Caleb's mommy respond to this revelation?
"Haven't you read 'The Princess and the Kiss'? You just stole a kiss from her future husband...and your future wife! But I have to admit, how many people can say that they had their first kiss on the Great Wall?"
UGH! Holding a high standard is really hard when you know that this is the story of a lifetime.
