July - Rock Climbing

I told y'all I've got some MAJOR catching up to do!  So backing way up to the last "camp" of summer...

Josiah and Elijah had a BLAST enjoying a Rock Climbing Summer Camp through the local Parks & Rec at a rock climbing gym.  Believe it or not, before the girls came home the whole family used to enjoy occassionally going to the rock climbing gym.  Now that the little girls saw the boys in action, they can't wait until next summer when they will be old enough to go rock climbing too.

Fun Pix of my "Little" Boys
Climbing on the short walls, without a harness, and on the padded flooring is call bouldering.
 Boulding is still challenging

 The BIG walls

Watching the boys climbing was so fun!  And such a unique way to see some of the personality shining through...in the way they climb.

Josiah scrambles up the wall.  Always looking ahead to the next hand hold.  No hesitation.  No doubt.  Total zeal.

Elijah is my thinker.  He climbs at a slower rate, but he is very methodical.  He checks the placement of his feet and hands.  Makes sure he's safe and secure, before reaching to the next level.  You can see his mind whirling as he chooses his next target.  He ponders and calculates as he maps out his path.

 Look, Mom!  No feet!

Two taking on a new challenge - angles and overhangs

Did you take the picture, yet?
